She was so human… <3
I think the next bit is even more important. Because that’s when Martha learns the truth, that the girl she’s been jealous of for the past year is trapped, locked away from a man who loves her fiercely, and I mean goddamnit Freema, her eyes are just… she gets it then, how little she knows the man she loves, and how much she will never know about him.
But it’s also important for the Doctor and Jack, to talk about Rose is to venture into a topic they’re both uncomfortable with but together, they’re willing to talk. And the Doctor sees only the good about Rose, even if he thinks of her as “so human.” He thinks of Bad Wolf and remembers that the “last act of the Time War was life.” Of course he remembers that Rose nearly died and that he did to save her, but to him, Rose even made the Time War a little less terrible.
And though she unintentionally cursed Jack, I think the knowing gives him hope, knowing that it was someone who loved him, an act of love that cursed him.
This episode is fantastic, but this scene. Perfection.
